Comfort starts with the yarn, long before a single stitch is sewn. Every Comfy piece is cut from cotton fabric sourced from our mills in India, spun and finished to a standard we hold every batch to.
What’s in the Fabric
- Briefs: 100% Cotton
- Boxers: 95% Cotton / 5% Lycra — the Lycra gives just enough stretch to move with you without losing shape wash after wash
Exact composition can vary a little by style — the Material line on each product page is the one to trust for that specific item.
Why 40s Combed Cotton Yarn
Most of our fabric is spun from 40s combed cotton yarn. In the cotton count system, a higher number means a finer yarn — 40s sits in the sweet spot for innerwear: fine enough for a soft, lightweight handfeel, without the fragility of very high counts made for dressier fabrics.
Combed refers to an extra step in spinning where short, uneven fibres and impurities are combed out before the yarn is spun. The result is a smoother, stronger, more even yarn than uncombed (carded) cotton — less pilling, a cleaner surface against the skin, and a fabric that holds its shape over repeated washes.
Care
Machine wash cold with like colours, avoid bleach, and skip the tumble dryer where possible — combed cotton and cotton-Lycra blends both last longest with a gentle, low-heat wash and an air dry.
